Body and Breath Psychotherapy – Dan Lowe
My psychotherapy practice is rooted in a belief in empathy, human connection and the wisdom of the body. Research shows that the most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I strive to establish positive relationships with depth, honesty and mutual understanding with everyone I work with, to aid this outcome. The body is a neglected source of wisdom in our culture and I aim to bring your embodied experience into this work.
Throughout my life, I have always tried to deeply understand people and build strong relationships. For the early part of my career, I worked as a teacher with older teens, teaching A levels. I really love working with this age group – I love their energy, their open-mindedness, and curiosity. In good teaching, there’s a real emphasis on building relationships, meeting people openly, and holding them in positive regard. These are all qualities which are essential to building therapy relationships.

My own personal therapy had exceeded my expectations in terms of personal change and I felt excited by the prospect of being able to help bring this about in others. I began retraining in 2017, completing an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton in 2020, which gave me a grounding in the diversity of approaches available in the therapy world and how to maintain a safe and effective practice.
The modality I resonate with the most and that was most effective for me was Reichian psychotherapy (after Wilhelm Reich). I am continuing to train in this modality with Daniel Schiff (based in Portland, Maine) whose Somatic Psychology post-graduate training I commenced in September 2025.

I am based in Angel, Islington, a short walk from Angel Tube station.
